1997 Bentley Continental T dealer limited edition - 26.500 miles only
Here we have another of these punchy top of the range Bentley Coupe's, last supplied by our team here in Kensington to of our French customers (Cricklewood Bentley, Derby Bentley, Crewe Bentley all sitting alongside to various Bugatti's too)
Produced in the traditional Bentley manner, offering huge performance, within the most comfortable of surroundings
When first introduced in 1997 Bentley claimed 174mph as the top speed (a special 16/43 axle ratio helped here) and we have seen them at well over 150mph, with bags left to come
Acceleration is equally impressive with 60mph coming up in a shade over 5 seconds, at which point she is just getting into her stride and performance continues without abating
Special features new to the 'T' included special wide 5 spoke alloy wheels, with tyres developed by Pirelli specially for the model (285/45 x R18), extended wheel arches to accommodate the new huge wheels, up rated brake discs (340mm) & calipers, revised front and rear bumpers and spoilers, revised side sills, single large exhaust and a wheel base shortened by 4 inches to increase the sharpness of the handling for this extremely fast motor car
Trim levels inside were similarly updated with a starter button to the centre console, machine turned aluminium fascia and door trim, mahogany veneer to the centre console, special seat panel design, turbo boost gauge, revised rear seats to accommodate the reduced wheel base, the indicated uplift in the level of performance and on top of this our example has been updated with the helps of our frieds within Mulliner Park Ward, under the guidance of Trevor Gaye
With an extremely low mileage and impeccable service history our Contnental T is even more unusual for when now she was specified by Northern Bentley Dealer Ron Stratton of Wimslow in Cheshire
Ron knew his Bentley motors and specified an extremely individual level of trim for his dealerships own Edition - special order silver dollar paint (formulated by Jack Barclay actually for an earlier Special Edition by our team in 1996), colour coded cheetah panels, contrast stitching to the top roll, centre console and top roll, silverstone & slate hide to seating panels, twin exhaust pipes, full engine turned centre console in lieu of mahogany veneer, drilled pedals, stainless polished gear lever, sports button moved to knee roll fascia panel, hide door waistrails, Winged 'B' emblems to door tops, brightware stainless headlamp surrounds, tri-band aerial, thicker diameter steering wheel surround - there was also a bespoke luggage set provided which has been snaffled by a previous owner
So we have a magnificent specification, and a really low mileage and the nice thing now is that the car has been mainly looked after by our friends at P & A Wood throughout it's life subsequent to delivery
There are many, many invoices on file which is always nice to see and they attest to the lovely condition of the car over all
Interest in these bespoke top of the range Bentley's has risen over the last year or so, for when compared to the equivalent alternatives in period, Ferrari 550 and Aston Martin Vantage their comparative values are crazy
Get one now, whilst they are still within reach
