1980 Rolls-Royce SIlver Shadow II - 2 owners and 35.500 miles only
Silver Shadows with extremely low mileages are very worthwhile and nowadays there are not many left
Happily we have found a cracker from this ilk
So rarely do we receive a vehicle which we don't even need to valet, let alone tidy up the engine bay or hoover the carpets
This SSII is in the most impeccable condition with veneers which have not been bleached by the sun, the original over matts are still intact and the seat cushions have not lost their support - this is the most perfect example and pictures and words cannot do her justice
First purchased from Hooper & Co where the original invoice within the history folder, confirms that the buyer was not adverse to Rolls-Royce, as he part exchanged his 1975 Shadow I against his, this next Shadow and he kept his beautiful and rather special car, until 2011
All maintenance records are kept within the history folder too, with most servicing carried out by Paddy Barthropp DFC AFC - specialists in Rolls-Royce & Bentley servicing for a considerable time by then
Barthropp had a very distinguished War record, as a Wing Commander in the RAF and rubbing shoulders with, or indeed flying with compatriots like Sir Douglas Bader and Brian Kingcome and etc (He actually set up his business after the war as Barthropp Denby Sargeant - the 4th partner was Douglas Bader, who wanted to be silent, and the Sergeant was Malcolm who ended up as my Manager at Jack Barclay many years later........!!)
His skill in preserving Rolls & Bentley thereafter was extra-ordinary
The second owner is a collector who prefers owning them more than driving them, although the vehicles are kept in secure, dehumidified storage conditions, and run up for 20 minutes every month to ensure all fluids are warmed through, tyres turned and gears / brakes operated
Hence the perfect condition of this, almost time warp example
Nothing most need be said, except perhaps, perfection
